All,
I have a terraced house, which has a leaking flat roof on an extension at the back of the house.
The current roof is a felt one. A builder has recommended I get it changed to a pitched roof as this (he says) will last much, much longer
than a felt one, and won't leak. The felt ones
need changing every 10 years from my own experience.
Now, the costs he quoted me are :
felt roof - £1,500 (plus £200 for replacing any water damaged boards - of which I am sure there will be some)
pitch roof - £2,500.
This is in Middlesex, and the extension size of 18 foot by 11 foot.
Do these prices sound about right?
And does anyone have any views on the felt vs pitch roof debate?
Many thanks in advance.
