Places to recycle the old used car batteries

I have a few of these used old car batteries to put out.
I am just wondering if there are alternative places which accept the old used car batteries for recycling apart from the skip. I saw the local supermarkets such as Lidle and Aldi has big jars accepting used AA AAA C and D and PP9 batteries. I am not sure if the supermarkets would accept the used car batteries, or would they? Or Is the local skip only place to put the old car batteries for recycle?

Take them to scrap metal yard . You'll get about a 5er for car batteries

You'll probably get about 50p/Kilo for your car batteries. If you have a few, it's worth weighing them in.

Scrappy depending on size you will get a few bob around 40/50p per kilo .
you will need bank account details photo id and utility bill less than 3 months old

You would need to put some type of price on them say £10
That would get them nicked

And the guys who work there take them to the scrappy on the last day of their shift.

Our household recycling collectors take car batteries and used sump oil. Not sure they would take all in one go, maybe put out one a week if yours accept them.
