Looks like the government are easing off on planning permission for certain jobs, like no permission needed for conservatories any more and making it easier to move a door opening without full permission.
Seems the 330,000 planning applications each year are bunging the system up so they changing the rules a bit and easing off.

You're jumping the gun somewhat.

In that news article said:
Plans to cut red tape to make it easier in England to build home extensions are expected to be announced by Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly next week.

A White Paper will propose that minor developments such as conservatories would no longer need permission where there is little impact on neighbours.
So not only are the changes to legislation a future event, but the White Paper that proposes the changes hasn't even been published yet.

Believe it when you see it. Can you imagine this government letting people do what they want, especially in this industry. It has come to the point where they have snoopers coming into your own house to check you have decorated properly. Can you see them letting you extend it without permission....I think not!

Eh? The current legislation restricts householders, not builders.

Yes, those dratted snoopers.

They already do.

Was that drug prescribed for some illness, or just recreational?
