Our current pond net has a frame made out of overflow pipe. Problem is that the white pipe looks awful so it's time to build something new.

This is where I am looking for idea on a material to use for a new pond net which is considerably more aesthetically pleasing. My current ideas are:

1. Galvanised steel rebar - relatively easy to bend around the shape of the pond. Galvanised so as not to leave rust stains on the paving.
2. Lengths of bamboo lashed together to form the shape around the pond. This might fall to pieces over the years as the lashing rots.
3. Black rope weaved into the net and somehow (?) fixed to the sides of the pond.

Anyone have any ideas to create a better looking net (frame)?

I have used a sheet of 'road mesh' cut to size, at first it didn't look good. But having a new baby - the other option was to take the pond out. I also painted it black. It is also very strong.

Paint the pipe that you have? Black might fit in better, just sandpaper the plastic and degrease before you apply.

Cover with a PVC lid using cladding (used on the eves)? So you will have to make a sturdy frame, if you want to walk on it, and put a step in all round for the ornament. As light as a feather
