Currently in the middle of having an extension built, whilst in the process we have decided to update our current conventional boiler to a condensing one, we also wish to move it to a different position. could someone please tell me what are the current regulations on how far away the flue has to be away from a openable window.

Thankyou in advance for any help given

from openable window or air vent 300mm as stated . from an opening in the fabric of the building designed to accomodated a built in element such as a window frame 150mm... As per corgi book.. But manufacturers instructions will give there distances which is what you go by

The position i wish to mount it is approx 600mm from the lounge top opening window, from your replies, no problem then

Many thanks

remember you may have some unwanted pluming across the window in certain conditions when the boiler is in operation. something you may want to consider before you site the boiler relatively close to a window.

If the above is the case, then most reputable manufacturers offer a plume re-direction kit, which basically allows you to raise the outlet of the flue up the wall and out the way of any windows it may be parallel with. That's providing you dont mind having a 'periscope' look-a-like fixed to the outside of your house
