price of heat exchanger

I have got Valliant boiler and has started playing up since yesterday. I called the heating engineer and he told me that the heat exchanger has gone. I cant get hot water in the shower, unless I run it very slow. The price quoted was £180.00, is it right? What about the labour cost ? PLease help if this price is right. The number on the boiler is GW 634/0 I dont know if this makes sense. Hoping to hear from you soon.

Not sure which model boiler you have - ecomax, ecotec...?
But some secondary heat exchangers are that price.
They clog up with dirt from your system.
They can be acid cleaned though! Assuming it comes out reasonably easily, I'd charge you £80 all in.
