Is that a surprise?

Averages can be misleading - but could it be something to do with below minimum wages being paid to casual workers and zero hours contracts?
I don't think there are many of those in the public sector.

Is it that you think they should reduce the wages of the public sector rather than raise the wages of the private.

Some economic report published the figures read it in the last few days, on average the public sector earn more.

Example.

Noticed it's usually the public sector shirkers where there's lots of talks of strike etc etc .......cosseted barstewards should be banned from striking by law.

If you have a hospital appointment soon, take a copy of that article in with you.

Make sure you show the nurse just before she gives you an injection.
That way the nurse can show you just how cosseted she (or he) feels.

It's important to remember that it's not just pay. It's security of employment (particularly in local government), time off for minor problems, early retirement, generous pension schemes etc.
