no doubt a silly question but i am currently trying to learn about different central Heating systems and wondered specifically why the 2port valve is used in a gravity c-plan system ie what and why/when it does what it does,a "to make it more efficient" answer isnt the vague kind of answer im after which some people on these forums like to do.any info muchly appreciated!

Thanks it seems like it is mainly on the return not the feed to the cylinder tho any reason?and to pick your brain a bit more,so the stat (cylinder) tells the valve to close which means the boiler will shortly shut down as its only now heating the pipe up to the valve correct?but if the central heating is calling the boiler wont shut down as its still needed tho only for CH this is why its more efficient?sorry to knit pick just like to know as much as possible
cheers
