Quick decking question

Hi, haven't been on here for a while.
Looking at ordering materials for decking for the weekend, and the local timber merchant do a 120mm x 28mm board and a 145mm x 28mm board.
Just wondered what the pros and cons were of the different sizes. It is a fairly large deck (aprox 35 sq m).
Also, if I am using 100mm x 50mm joists, how far apart should the supports be? I was thinking about 1500mm, too much or not enough?

Basically if you use the 145mm boards you will have less to screw down, just calculate the price differential.

As regards the supports, 1500mm is too wide, should be about 600mm or you will get a very springy deck.

Sorry I don't think I explained very well. The spacing of the joists will be about 500 mm but as the deck will be slightly raised I was wondering how many supports will be needed along the length of the joist. Joists will be 6m long (2 x 3m joists with a post support in between).
