What would be the maximum safe load for a single 5 Meter run of 2.5mm2 T&E PVC cable clipped direct to an internal brick wall?

2.5MM has a max capacity of 27A. altho it would have to be on a 20A MCB
 
Although some manufacturers do produce 25amp MCB's. These could be used for a fixed appliance.

What are you trying to achieve??

yes, and technically, its 230V. and running at 27A, it will be hot and possibly as high as 70 deg C

27A continuous clipped direct to a non metalic surface (or embedded in building material in line with method 1) with a 30 deg centigrade ambient temperature, not grouped with other cables and not run through thermal insulation. 240v does not have a bearing on the current carrying capacity of a cable, it is 27A wether it is 240v, 110v or 12v.

Yes, but thats clipped direct rating without any correction factors applied, unlikely to occur in a house, best to assume 20A as a rough guide*in the average way its installed in a house, any more than this I'd use 4mm²

*Rough guide only, exact installtion method, derating factors, volt drop, disconnect time, etc need to be all calculated and taken into account when selecting a cable

Could you explain the calculation for voltage drop on the table please.
e.g. 2 core 1.0mm cable voltage drop 44.0 amps/metre?
