Please can somebody help us. I took off a rad today to flush it out, was a nice day so a good opportunity as rad was playing up for months. I replaced it after and now there is a leak from where the pipework joins the thermostatic valve. I reused the same olive but added compound to it but it is still leaking. We've got a bucket underneath but it is a little messy. Why has this happened, is it me or should I have used a fresh brass olive? The trv is turned to 0 settign now but water still escaping. Will i have to drain down or anything else i can do? Please help.

Sounds silly, but have you tried tightening a bit more?

Other than that, I would drain down, clean the pipe and replace the olive.
