hi newbie here i have a gas boiler ideal elan 2 cf 30 , does heating only no controls on the system other than the high /low setting on the boiler it is set on low, the problem if it is a problem is the radiators are getting scarily hot, cannot put your hand on them for long, i have a plumbing background so i think it may be a stat related fault, rads are all vented pump vented, header tank full, anyone shed any light would be gratefully received, boiler about 15 yrs old, ps some noise from boiler rattling mainly.

It may be that the Hi / Lo stats are faulty. The Lo setting will generate approx 60c which is hard to hold onto for any length of time. A temp check would confirm that. Not a job for diy I'm afraid.
