Hi chaps. I'm planning a bit of DIY on my 53 plate Fiesta. The problem I have is the fan direction selector doesn't work. It blows a little out of every hole. I'd like some warm air on my hands rather than the 'screen. The selector dial seems to spin freely, so I was thinking maybe a steel cable behind it had come unhooked or something. I have tried to remove the fascia surrounding the dials, but it isn't budging. I have removed 4 screws (2 at left and 2 at bottom), but no joy. Any ideas? Cheers. Also the AC doesnt work, but a job for the spring i think!

does this sound like your fault? i work for ford and it was a recall

Should a customer express concern that too much air is entering the footwell from the heater housing when the air distribution switch is set to "Windshield", the probable cause is an incorrect setting of the air distribution flap shaft. To resolve the concern, a revised air distribution flap shaft should be installed.
