I’d appreciate any thoughts/advice on the following.
Since replacing (professionally) the MPV on our fully pumped system recently either the 3 amp fuse in the system's electric supply plug and/or the 3 amp fuse in the wiring centre “blow” at seemingly random intervals (few hours, a day or two) but between times the system works “perfectly”.
It’s a fully pumped system, installed 1991. It has worked continuously since without problem until now. The old MPV (which had clearly failed) was a Smiths Switchmaster (c1991), the pump is a Grundfoss-Selectric Ups15-50 (c1991 – seems ok), The wiring centre is Randall Mk3 – scheme R69 (c1991). The replacement MPV is a Honeywell V4073A.
Is this a “simple” wiring issue, the old pump on its way out, or what? Our plumber is scratching his head……
