I have a ravenheat rsf 820 boiler, the hotwater will only work when the central heating is turned on. I think that it could be the diaphram am i right? if so would it be just as easy to replace the whole diverter valve as i think the whole lot has to come out anyway. I have replaced the thermo couple before which was easy enough. And although this looks a little tricky im confident i could do it. Any thoughts anybody???

It does sound as if the diverter diaphragm has failed.

Even for a professional this is a tricky and knuckle scraping job. I would allow 90 minutes but leave time available afterwards in case it over ran.

Its very important to carefuly check that all the thermostat sensors have been replaced correctly.

The boiler is now quite old and it may be better to take the opportunity to replace it with a modern condensing unit.
