Hi

just had engineer to resolve boiler problem and has confirmed that the system needs cleaning.

The system is old and combi boiler is 3yrs old. I had already the month before put in a system cleaner (salamander) via radiator and mastic gun which appears to not removed the sludge/lime scale.

I have taken advice from fernox to use a heavy duty cleaner(not to harsh)
however it would have to go in system via the filling loop. It been suggested using a garden sprayer under pressure but I have not done this before any advice on how to do this please.

Replies appreciated.

Drain an upstairs rad completely (from downstairs) and remove a blanking cap off the side of the rad.
Screw in a MI elbow (15 mm) and place a small funnel in it and pour.

Bish bash bosh as Kevplumb says
