Hi, wonder if someone can offer me some advice. My mum wants a circa. 1970s Parkray glass-fronted fire removed in order to fit a new surround with an inset electric fire. Her main heating is via an oil-fired open-vented system, with the boiler located in the garage. I removed the surround today and discovered that the Parkray boiler, though redundant, is still connected to the system. A little investigation showed me that when the oil conversion took place (about 10 years ago) the flow and return from the new boiler were simply branched into the originals from the Parkray! Anyway, my idea is too drain the whole system, cut out the 28mm pipes from the Parkray, cap them off and then rip out the boiler. Does this seem resonable? (sorry for length of this thread, wanted to be as clear as possible!!)
