Just had a replacement radiator fitted to our fully pumped system (for which it was completely drained down) and now I can't get the system to refill. I've had all the rad bleed valves open and tried refilling through the mains connection (pressure gauge went up to 4Bar) but the rads seems to be sucking air in!

Any advice truly appreciated

Sure you haven't turned any valves off!!!??
Sound like a heck of a blockage in the pipes. 4 bar ought to shift it though...
What's the boiler, etc etc?

What is the air pressure in the expansion vessel when the water pressure is zero?

Some of the valves were turned off (prior to draining) but they've all been turned back on again. The boiler is a an Ideal Standard Icos m3080. I don't know how to check the air pressure in the expansion vessel as there's no gauge (only gauge is on the pipes). Had a go a bleeding this morning after topping up (I thought!), running the heating and switching off and the rads are still sucking air!

Right, found the problem. One of the gatevalves on the main heating circuit was still shut. Doh!

Anyway, thanks for your comments.
