I live in the Blackpool area and as I am female find that tradesmen who come round do the sucking through the teeth thing and say its gonna cost you love! They are then putting in ridiculous quotes for thousands of pounds to for example fit and supply a basic white bathroom suite takin 3 days labour ans wanting £2000. I am happy to pay going rate but do not accept that is £4-500 a day! Can anybody recommend any builders, plumbers or kitchen fitters in Blackpool who will give proper itemised quotes and not try to rip off a female at the drop of a hat?

Ask your friends and neighbours for recommendations.
Look at the work they have had done. Ask how long it took, what it cost, did the builder disappear to go to another job, did it go wrong, leak etc, did he come back and fix it.
