removed radiators - now no hot water

I have an Ideal HE15 boiler and have drained the central heating system to remove the rads for decorating. I bunged the feed and expansion tank and used the drain valve to remove the water, have capped the radiator pipes and now removed the bung. the Radiators will be going back on in a week or so.

All went well however I do not have any hot water, the water is luke warm - what have I done wrong?

Probably an airlock. Why did you bung the tank? Did you move the valve to allow the system to drain?
