I have installed a set of bifold doors that are in a double thermalite cavity wall with a 4m long catnic steel lintel above. The doors are set back around 2" from the outside of the blockwork so I should be able to fit a corner bead down the verticals. Question is, how do I do the horizontal edge above the doors and render under the steel lintel. also where the render meets the aluminium door frame do I simply render to it or fit a stop bead just off it to allow for some movement?

If i understand you, yes, fix a say, plastic stop bead all around the head and jambs to give a few mm's to protect against juddering vibration.

Does the head have a covering drip cap of some kind to shed water?

There are weep holes in the blockwork above the lintel but other than that, ther is just the flat surface of the linte running back through the wall. The door frame currently sits about an inch below the linte. Havent fixed/foamed it yet as i wanted to confirm the detail incase i had to change it.

The difficulty is that without pics one cant make an accurate suggestion, or at least a confident proposal.

Do you understand what i mean by a drip cap? Water coming down the face of the render needs to be thrown off.

Do you intend to fix the frame up thro the lintel?

Render stop beads around the reveals.

The underside of the catnic would be left as is.
