Hello I'm new to this forum but hopefully someone may be able to give me some advice! I've got some "builders" in to replace my fascias and barge boards but have noticed that they have removed the small tiles that originally sat on the old wooden barge boards that supported the cement under the verge tiles and haven't replaced them with anything, so now the original cement is sitting on the new PVC barge board the "builder" has reassured me that this is perfectly normal practice but when I look at the other house in the street they all seem to still have their tiles or these have been replaced with new cement board, will mine be ok or should I ask for cement board as I concerned that over the years the cement could wear away and I won't have an edge to repoint up to. Thanks for your time in reading this.
