Replacing a tv on Virgin

Want to buy and install a new tv for a friend as a surprise. The contract is with Virgin and I want to replace the bedroom tv. Is it just a case of changing over the co-ax cable and the scart plug or does the new tv have to be 'tuned' into Virgin somehow?

The TV will have to be connected to the Virgin decoder via HDMI or Scart, as appropriate. No tuning necessary. Simply select the relevant input socket.

Does the bedroom have it's own virgin box or is there some kind of setup to allow watching the main virgin box from the bedroom.
