Hi,

I have a staircase (approx 90 years old) and one of the corner steps has split. Part of the plank has actually dropped about an inch. I do not have any access below the staircase, what would be the best way to proceed in this situation?

There really is only one way - take out the underdrawings, repair from beneath and replace the underdrawings. Anything else will be a short term bodge job

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like I will have to get a carpenter in. It sounds like a large amount of work as I have a fully boarded up cupboard under the stairs with electric lights etc. Hopefully it won't be too expensive.
