RSJ & Padstone

Hi all,
My S.E. has specified 2 x 5m steels 254 x 146 x 31, bolted together onto padstones 330 x 250 x 150mm. I figure that this will make the beam about 300mm wide but the wall that it is bearing onto is only 250mm wide, can anyone see any problems with this.

Not really, but he hasn't thought about what it will look like . Ask him for alternative section sizes that don't add up to more than 250mm.
