Hi all

I am working on a sealed CH system at the moment - moving a couple of rads. The system has no feed tank and has a pressure vessel etc as expected .. So far so good I hear you cry...

Heres the thing yeah...The system has a feed from the Cold Water storage tank for filling/topping-up the system. There is a stopcock(closed) and non-return valve on the feed.I assume this stopcock is just opened when the system need filling/topping-up.

My question is this: I always thought that a sealed system had to be filled using a hose-type-thing connected to the mains.

Is this not the case. ie. Is this Tank setup ok and will the pressure from the tank be sufficient to fill the system without the need to connect to the mains?

Many Thanks in a advance ... friends .

It depends on the boiler, but it's fine for many. :D

Thanks Chris - Do you reckon each boiler's manufacturers manual will specify whether this method is ok or is it hit and hope??

Thanks again :)
