I'm hoping for any tips or advice please

I've recently retiled a shower and because the tray is cemented I am left with a gap between the tray and the tiles of about 1cm wide by the height of the tray, 3-4cm?

It was originally siliconed completely, so my question is, is there a better or more suitable way?

thanks

what I'm trying to describe is a tray thats cemented to the floor, which has a 1cm gap all round it, to the tiled wall, which is tiled right down to the floor and I'm trying to work out if silicone is the best sealant for this gap
