My so-called professional tiler has silicon-sealed the base of my shower enclosure on both the inside and outside. I know this is incorrect and should only be on the outside (generallly and according to the manufacturer's specific instructions in this case) but does anyone know why, and what are the likely implications of sealing on the inside? Thanks for any enlightenment.

If water manages to get in somehow then it cannot escape and gets trapped between the two silicon seals,it is then only a matter of time before you get mould issues. With out the inside seal the water can drain back into the tray.
Sound like your tiler needs a bit more training..............in another career perhaps ;)
