Eventually managed to get hold of someone at GE - they are posting me something that should work and take 16mm. Time to wait on the postman.
Spark 123 - brilliant many thanks - why can't seven local wholesalers be that helpful? - the existing bar definitely only takes 10mm - the only way I could get 16 in is to split the strands.
