I have done a search of the forum and have got some ideas, but I could do with some more help please.

The temperature on the shower can only attain lukewarm after years of being ok. I have cleaned out the thermostatic valve filters (and there was lots of debris) and re-assembles, but the temperature problem remains. Water to the tap in the shower-room is v.hot.

The shower is pumped with negative head, and there is an air bleed device attached to the hot water feed. The shower is a Trevi Therm.

Please can anyone suggest what else I might try - thanks.

If you’ve had the thermostatic valve apart for cleaning, did you put it back on the splines in exactly the same place it came out?

Thanks for the reply. As far as I am aware, I have put it back in the same place - how can I be sure that I have done this?

Well unless you marked it none really & it’s possible all you’ve done is put the knob back in the wrong place. The valve has a temperature limiting stop which keeps the water temp below 38 degrees to avoid scalding, assuming you’ve reassembled the valve innards correctly, it’s simple to adjust the delivery temperature. Remove the control knob locking screw, remove the knob from the splined shaft & reposition it a few degrees clockwise further round, turn the knob anticlockwise against the temp stop, take a thermometer & measure the water temp. Repeat until the water is 38 degrees with the control knob against the stop.
