I have a 10ft opening at the side of my property.
The plan is to put a couple of 6ft high by 5ft wide (approx) wooden gates.
I was thinking a strong, economical method would be to have a steel frame, slightly smaller than the finished doors fabricated. Then attach some timber cladding to the front eg. T&G or Heavy feather edge.
The doors would then hinge on timber posts, secured in concrete.
Does this sound a simple, robust, economical solution?
or should I just get some tried and tested off the shelf wooden gates at around the 300 quid mark
