sliding glass doors for serving hatch

Our new-to-us 60s house has sliding glass windows in the serving hatch (kitchen/dining-room) that are jammed. We would like to replace them with a similar system (as a period feature!!). Are there any better sliding mechanisms than the plastic groove kits? Obviously it will have to be safety glass. Any other tips?

Best to ask at your local glass supplier for prices. Varies depending on what system you go for. There are a few different types at the moment.

As far as the glass is concerned it has to be Toughened Safety glass
