Hi - I've a room, about 18sq ft, that has a 18mm t&g board covering on it. The floor is about 2.5 cm higher at one end. I've been advised that wood coverings wood be a waste of money, but could i lay a reclaimed parquet floor on it?

Depends on the reclaimed kind of parquet flooring you mean? Parquet as in wood blocks or as in planks?
If wood blocks you need to install a plywood or chipboard subfloor first.

it would be wood blocks, the subfloor is already chipboard, its the small slope that bothers me...

Is it a gentle sloop i.e. 2.5cm over the whole length?
If so, then there is not really a problem.
If not, try to fill it with extra sheet material and sand that so you have a smooth straight surfcae to install the wood-blocks on
