soap dispenser tray stuck (whirlpool Awm 3000 - 1000)

My soap tray is stuck as i tried to close it after pouring some detergent. It was not properly aligned and now i can't push or pull it. My washing machine is a whirlpool Awm 3000 - 1000. Pls help!

Judging from the lack of response I think most people will have come to the same conclusion as me: give it a good yank and hope for the best.

A spray of WD40 followed by as much force as is required to move it ( try tapping with a soft mallett or put a piece of soft wood and then hammer ) is called for.

Thanks guys or gals. That thought came across my mind but i was afraid of damaging the tray. If that happens can i replace it?
