Hi there,

I have just moved into a property where there is an Ideal 35Kw Combi boiler installed.

On the roof there are 36 Solar Thermal Heating Tubes for the water.

Inside the attic, it looks like the builders have removed the pumping station and the tank, there is nothing to join the two systems together, but me being me, I would like to do so.

A few questions though:

Can anyone recommend a fair priced installer?
Can my system be re-commissioned easily?
Does anyone know if there are any grants available for installation?
Are there any payments ongoing when the system is installed?
How good are they and is there anything to consider when installing or having quotes for installation?

I think I need a new pumping station and tank (they aren't there), how well do these systems work with combi boilers?

Many Thanks in advance guys!

Cheers

Makes you wonder why they removed the solar thermal.
Only MCS registered installers can instalL f.i.t installations
More than likely they will want to remove old system and install a new one that is actually approved.
There will be a fair amount of system reconfiguring to allow the combi boiler and stored hot water to operate together.
The jist of the questions are would it be cheap, the answer is no.
