Spin Speed Problem

S

Shutpa

Hi. We have a 3 years old Hoover, Optima Wash System, 1400 A+AA OPH148 Washing machine. Lately, when selecting the 59 minute wash and therefore the maximum spinning speed that goes with it, we find that the medium speed is selected and it takes an awful lot of fiddling with the control knob, to get the neon indicator to move to the correct spinning speed. Sometimes it just doesn't happen and we have to allow the the machine to to do a medium spin-speed wash and then, at the end of the cycle, switch to a maximum speed spin only setting.
Advice would be gratefully appreciated.

If your machine functions correctly otherwise then I would suspect your panel card is playing up. Older versions were fitted with a separate program selector & LED card, both of which are cheap. Unfortunately your program selector is integrated on the panel card & it costs around £80. If you can live with the inconvenience of fiddling with the selector just run the machine into the ground & put the £80 towards a new machine when that time comes. To be honest Hoover electronics are junk :(

Hi Zipper, thanks for your reply and sorry for the delay in answering yours. I will take your advice, use the machine as it is, and save the £80 for that time when it packs in altogether. ;)
