Hi, I am thinking of replacing an existing open plan staircase and replacing it with a spiral (preferably wooden) one. I would like to know if anyone has any experience on this and whether it would be better to buy one and get someone to fit it or have one custom made and fitted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you will need special furniture as the larger items wont go up a spiral case
or indeed an easily removable window

If you're thinking of doing this to gain additional space, you'd still be looking at a spiral staircase taking up an approx. area of 1.5 sq.m.

Because it's not as if the majority of furniture comes flat packed anyway :p
