Stain through lining paper

Hi All,
Just a quickie ( ooh Mrs) Water stain on ceiling...I'm papering then emulsioning...will I need to treat the stain first or does the fact that I'm papering prevent the stain coming through the emulsion ? Cheers.

The paste will activate the stain and still come through the paper. You will have to cover the stain with oil based undercoat or stain block when the paper is dry before you paint.
