Bit of a DIY novice and looking for some ideas or advice. We have a very old style bannister/stairs in the house and looking for ideas. I dont have the money to remove and replace so thought I could maybe paint it to freshen it up as I dont have a lot of tools or physical ability to do much else. I take it I would need to sand, prime and then paint?
Any suggestions as to which paints/products to use? Colour? Am I better sticking to a plain white to freshen it up?
I have decided on wrap round carpet for the stairs as I have two larger dogs and the noise of them running up and down on wood would be awful!
