Hi all. I’m going to be hacking off the render on my house and having it redone. I’m keeping the windows but want to put stone cills in beneath them.

How do I go about it? Is it a case of removing the glass/window and then hacking out the old tiled cill... cement in the new stone ones (going to use stone patio slab type things) and then re-fit the window straight into them?

Ideally I’d like to get each one done in the same day so the house stays secure and watertight etc. Any tips would be awesome

its simple enough to pull the frames out and install any type of sill and then re-fix the frames.
frames should be set back a min of 75mm from the face of the building.
and they should have , like your's do, Bell Cast's over the head if your going to render.

you could fit sills with the frames left in place but it might be more tricky?
