I have just read the doc and it sounds good to me.
I also have a 24kw multifuel stove that has a built it dresser/bookcase in a recess to the side of it that protrudes about 50mm to the front of the wall and that never gets warm.
I am not a hetas engineer.

I did suggest this a while ago and it generated zero response from Admin and the Mods

Immediate reaction is that that alcove is too small, there should be 150mm minimum either side of the stove. Also, I hope it's made of heavyweight concrete blocks as thermalite type blocks are not acceptable...

As Muggles said, the clearances may be a little on the tight side causing the stove to overheat...... Generally the larger the opening, the more heat will come into the room.

all was passed off by the hetas engineer before he even fitted it. the stove is specially made for tight clearances.

the opening is wider than the minimum this stove can fit into. and all block work is of heavy type and not thermalite etc, and the walls of the stove recess are more than the minimum thickness to the sides specified in document J.

Just thought it would be nice to conclude a posting, as there are so many that are left open, with no end result of the op. cheers to anyone who contributed.
