strange radiator problem

Hi Guys i've got a weird problem with a couple of radiators one upstairs one downstairs when i switch the radiator upstairs on the rad downstairs goes off and vice verser very strange. the rad downstairs is the last one in the circuit (if thats right expression) the rad upstairs is directly above the rad downstairs and im assuming 2nd from last rad in the circuit,

Maybe your system just needs balancing (have a look at the FAQ's)......
Turn the lockshield valves open only 3/4 of a turn - usually thats all they need.

Thanks for your suggestion it seems to have worked: by turning the lockshield into the off position then turning it on 1/2 a turn, both rads are now working
 
Leave heating on for about 1/2 hour to stabilise.

Then feel both pipes on each rad. There should be a noticeable difference in the temps.

If any have virtually no difference then close that L/S valve and then open by just 1/2 turn.

Thanks guys for the suggestions it appears to have worked just turning the l/s valve off then back on 1/2 a turn if only everything in life was that easy!
