Hi there.

I have a bathroom with bath sink and WC on a stack with an AAV.

When I empty the bath, after a while large bubbles start coming up toilet.

If I flush, the bowl fills and only very slowly empties out.

Do I have a stuck air admission valve or is a blocked stack more likely ?

The kitchen (below bathroom) doesn't back up when toilet bowl level is high so I am confused (unless blocked between bathroom and kitchen which is unlikely as vertical pipe).

The AAV is behind some tiles so I could do with knowing how I can check it is working without getting to it (yes I know I shouldn't have tiled it in).

Cheers.

You could try removing the AAV and see if it makes any difference to your problem.

If there is an improvement then you know it is not opening properly allowing air into your pipe when needed.
:(
Be prepared for the aroma though.

If you need a new one keep away from Travis P. They tried to charge me over £60 plus vat for one. WRAS approved admittedly but hey- this guy should have had a horse an a pistol!
