Support in loft for 250 litre Megaflo tank

Just wanted to check whether standard 2" x 4" joists were sufficient to support a 250litre tank. Just the water is (obiviously) going to weigh 250kg, tank I'd guess maybe 50kg.

That's over the weight of three people.

I'll have boarding, and put it nearer to the wall, but not sure how I can be certain it will be strong enough...

Is this a job for a structural engineer?

Most CWS tanks in lofts are 50 gallons which is getting on for the weight of your Megaflo. To spread the load get some additional lengths of 4x2 and put them at right angles across, say, 4 existing joists. Put a deck of something solid on top of this (eg 3/4 ply, rather than chipboard). It will help if you keep the weight in a corner, rather than the middle of the floor.
