Hi,

After reading many posts from this fine site I have decided to clean my noisey CH system with some Fernox Restorer.

I have one simple question: should I switch off the gas supply to the boiler and so turn off the poilt light while I am draining and cleaning the system... or should I just override the timer so it doesnt fire up the boilder properly?

I have a BAXI bermuda back boiler and plan to leave the Restorer running around in the system for 4 days and then drain, flush and then use the inhibbitor 'Protector' (?).

thanks
Rich

Think fernox recommend heating up the system whilst chemicals are circulating.

Not a bril idea to have any heat on an old cast iron HE whilst flushing though
