Hi,

A while back, I took apart a table lamp with an in built touch sensitive dimmer so that I could attach a longer flex.

As with these things, you think you will remeber how it came apart when you come to put it back together, but I can't!

In summary:

I have 2 inputs - Brown/Blue from mains

2 Output - Brown/Blue to Lamp Holder

The touch sensitive unit has 3 cables, black, red and blue.

The touch unit suggests that the red and black cables for the touch unit are connected to the mains supply.

Then the red and blue cables for the touch unit are connected to the lamp holder.

I have tried this, but to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy this?

Thanks in advance.

1) Why on earth did you disconnect the internal wiring - surely all you had to do was to remove the flex, and leave the rest alone?

2) When you say "the touch unit suggests that...", what do you mean? Is there a diagram on it?

3) Have you tried the manufacturer for help?

The dimmer unit has three connections which suggests to me:

L in

L out

N

As to which is which, as BAS says, ask the manufacturer!!
