Breezer to you actually know anything about telecoms(probably not as you have never heard of a break in adaptor :rolleyes: )? To the OP, as Going Digital has said the most likely cause if pin 3 IS connected is 2 & 5 are reversed, if you are sure 3 IS connected try reversing the wires that go to 2 & 5. If you have BB(which IS a valid question) the you can forget about pin 3 anyway as a SIN complient filter(NOT all are so check!) does not need pin 3, it's inbuilt capacitor generates the ring voltage locally. So, either reverse 2 & 5 or remove pin 3 and plug in a SIN complient filter. If still no ring then plug the phone into the master socket to verify it works!

Thanks everyone for advice. Its now working dont know how we did it but fiddled about with wires and now ok. Unfortunately it appears I have started some sort of debate with one or two of you!
