Hi
I'm a newbie here, have tried a search on this problem but can't get quite find the answer so thought I'd post a topic looking for help. Thanks in advance.
Our thermostatic shower mixer has recently started running cold, even if you turn the temp control right up to the max.
I think it's related to a recent problem we've had. Our boiler (an Ideal mini s28 normal boiler) recently had some problems. Whilst it was out of commission (over a month to get fixed!) we've been using our water tank's electric immersion heater. The water was very hot during that period.
Now that the boiler is fixed, we've naturally turned off the immersion and have started using the boiler again. The hot water temp is lower, but still perfectly hot enough from all other taps and from another thermostatic shower mixer we use in a 2nd bathroom.
Is it possible that the prolonged period of extra hot water has damaged the internals of the mixer? If so, does the whole thing need replacing or can you change part of it. I'm no expert I'm afraid!
I think the mixer is a Hansgrohe if that's helpful.
Thanks!
