Attic is only used for storage, but dust from the under-tile lining/felt gets everywhere, plus spiders.
I want to cover the rafters (with plasterboard or ply), but will insulation boards be beneficial for the whole house from a heating/eco perspective?
The floor is insulated already, but probably not up to modern standards (its joists +50mm raisers)
The rafters are 95mm, so would aim to get 50mm insulation board as easier to work with than wool. I think the aim would be 50mm between rafters, plus same again under the rafters.
I would also plan to enclose the attic space from drafts by closing off down by the eaves (put up vertical supports from floor to rafters and cover with PB/ply).
Thanks
Alex
