Our kitchen had the classic eighties horror "Oatmeal tiles with rustic motif", so decided to use tile paint. Very pleased with the finish, as I had been very dubious to how good it would look. Went on like a dream with a gloss roller, and has transformed the kithcen for very little money.

Unfortunately, the paint is quite easily scratched off. It was painted 4 days ago, but still managed to accidentally scratch off some last night. The tiles were prepped as per instruction before, grease and dirt free, and the paint needed no primer.

I can't keep touching up all the time! Anyone else had this problem and any suggestion on how to increase the durability?

Yep that's the trouble with painting tiles. I'd rip em off and re-tile or you'll be touching them up for ever and a day. Or I suppose you could scrape the paint off and tile over the top if you wanna do it on the cheap. It'll look better if you take them off and re-tile though. One of the beauties of tiles is that they're hardwearing, if you paint them they no longer have a hardy finish.

as gcol says painting tiles is a nightmare /horrible finish , +never tile over painted tiles now as the adhesive will not stick too the tile an it will fail
